Ha Long City

Ha Long City you may know that is the center of Quang Ninh Province in the North of Vietnam. The city is well known with Ha Long Bay considered one of the wonder of the world. The city is far from Ha Noi Capital more than 160km to the west and it is very easy to come to it.

How to get in

From Ha Noi, you can take the bus or coach to Ha Long. The time for transfer is about 3.5 to 4 hours. Sometimes it takes you about 5 hours. It depends on the place in Ha Noi where you arrive and the bus or coach that you take the ticket.

To take the ticket from Ha Noi to Ha Long, you can use the service of Hoang Long Express (Tel: 04 38452846), Phuc Nguyen Coach (Phone: 0912.069.739), Sinh Thanh Coach (Phone: 0915.466.929), Duc Phuc Coach (Phone: 0123.2288.389). Or you can take the bus ticket to Ha Long at My Dinh Bus Station.

From Ho Chi Minh City, you may take a flight to Ha Noi or Hai Phong city then take a bus to Ha Long. In the case that you have a flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Hai Phong, the time for transfer from Hai Phong to Ha Long is shorter than from Ha Noi of course. And in this situation, you may think about some interesting trips from Hai Phong to Ha Long.  

Go around

Ha Long is very famous with amazing destinations that attract people so much. The wonderful place where all have to visit priority is Ha Long Bay. However, Ha Long Bay is not the only destination for your exploring. There are many places that you should come to visit like Bai Tu Long Bay, Ngoc Vung Island, Reu Island, Ba Trai Dao Islet, Tam Cung Cave, Ba Ham Lake, Bai Chay Beach, Quan Lan Island, Co To Island, Mong Cai – Tra Co Destination and some other places.

The weather

The weather in Ha Long is divided into 2 seasons with the winter and the summer. The winter here is from November to April with its temperature from 5C degree to 17C degree. The summer is from May to October and the temperature with 24C degree to 38C degree.

The best time in Ha Long for travelling is from the end of November and the beginning of December to April. The ideal time for exploring here is from December to the beginning of February because the weather is so good with pleased climate and it is not rain.

Food and drink

For food: there are many local dishes in Ha Long that you should try like fried squid Ha Long or called squid sausage, lobsters, sea snails, oysters, and some other mollusks. Beside you can find here some dishes from the chicken in Tien Yen town, fermented pork roll ect.
