Lam Dong province is in the central highland of Vietnam. It is one of the popular tourist destinations in the country. How to get in

Passes:

The passes are not the roads that to lead you into the province, but they are great landscapes attracted people by fantastic view. If you come to Da Lat from Ho Chi Minh City, you will meet Deo Chuoi (or Banana Pass) located in Madagui Town and Bao Loc Pass that belongs to Bao Loc City. And then there are the passes where lead you into Da Lat City are Prenn Pass (called Prenn Pass 1) and Mimosa Pass (called Prenn Pass 2). If you come to Lam Dong Province from Ninh Thuan province, you will cross Ngoan Muc Pass called Song Pha Pass. This is one of the most dangerous passes in the South of the country. And then you will meet Dran Pass before coming in Da Lat City. In the case that you come to Da Lat City from Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa, you can take a trip through Song Pha Pass, however you can cross Long Lanh Pass with its distance that is shorter than the Song Pha Pass.

The weather

There are two seasons in Lam Dong province. The rain season is from May to November and the dry season is from December to April. The average temperature is from 18C degree to 25C degree.

The best months for your travelling in Da Lat are from October to February. Especially the best time is in the end of October and the beginning of December because of its ideal climate and the flowers blooming. If you are interested in the flower festival in Dalat city, you should visit the city from the middle to the end of December because the festival usually is happened in this period.
