Vietnam weather

There are tourists who worry so much about the weather if they come to Vietnam. They heard about the rain that happens easily or it is so hot in some months in the year.  However the weather in Vietnam is not the worries seriously if you understand it before travelling in. And the information in general as below – surely is useful for you in some cases.

Of course you know that Vietnam is a tropical country. The specific tropical weather is known that it is dry. But Vietnam weather is not dry completely. The geographical location makes the country that falls in the humid tropical area. So you can find here the different climates in the year and in each region in the country.

Weather in the North of Vietnam:

It is the lowland that borders the mountain, the Gulf of Tokin, so you can find here the 4 season in the year.

The spring is from January to March.

The summer is from March to June.

The autumn is from July to September.

And the winter is from October to December.

However you do not know clearly about the four seasons in the North of Vietnam like in many countries in the world because the specific feature of each season is not distinct so much. Usually people said that the season in the North with the summer is from May to September and the winter is from October to April. It is rain and hot sometimes in the summer in the North. In the winter it is cold, dry and drizzle. The average temperature is 25C degree and the coldest month is from December to January with 0C degree sometimes.

The best time for travelling in the North of Vietnam is in Feb and March for the spring, middle of May and June for the summer, August and September for the autumn and November for the winter. So if you have your plan for travelling here, it is not so difficult to choose the best time for exploring.

Weather in the Middle of Vietnam:

The weather in the Middle is not same the weather in the North. It is not clearly about 4 seasons so much. There are 2 areas of the weather that is very specific. They are the weather to the north of Hai Van pass and the rest of the coastal plain.

For the summer in the north of Hai Van Pass, it is dry and hot. For the winter in the north of Hai Van Pass, it is cold and rain. Especially, it is rain so much and there is flood in this area from July to October. The highest temperature in this area is sometimes in 40C degree. The low temperature is from 14C degree and 15C degree above. It happens in the high mountains.

In the coastal plain of the Central South of the Middle, the weather is considered that it has 2 seasons. They are the dry season and rain season. The rain season here is from July to November and then the dry season from December to June. Some years will have the rain season that starts lately from September to December then the dry time is from January to August. There is the flood in the area but it is not so serious like in the Central North of the Middle. The flood happens in November or December.

The best time for travelling in the Middle is from the end of December to April and to the middle of May. In this time, it is not so hot and it is not rain. The climate is pleased for the holidays also for exploring. However if you choose the destination is Nha Trang City for the holidays, you do not worry about the weather here because Nha Trang City is the best place with the great climate around the year. The temperature in this city is about 25C degree to 27C degree. It is not rain so much in the rain season and it is not hot strongly in the dry season like other cities in the coastal plain. 

Weather in the South of Vietnam:

There are 2 seasons in the South of Vietnam. They are the dry season and the rain season.

The dry season in the South of Vietnam is from December to April.

The rain season in the South of Vietnam is from May to November.

The weather in the South of the country is so not complicated. In the rain season, of course it is rain in the region but with different states. The average temperature is in 24-26C degree. Sometime it is cold and the temperature is lower that that. For the rain season: It is hot and sunny so much. The average temperature is in 27-28C degree and sometimes it is higher than 30C degree.

The time for your travelling in the South of Vietnam is in the dry season. The best month for beach holidays is in the summer time from May to August. The romantic time for your exploring the highland or Mekong Delta is from November to March. Of course you can travel in the South through the year with choice of different cities to avoid the rain time or the sunny time because it is rain so much or so hot that depend on each place.
