Many
visitors know about Lao Cai province after Sapa – one of the towns in this
province. Located in the north west of Vietnam, Lao Cai province is far from Ha
Noi about 296km. It borders
with Yunnan Province of China in the north. Lao Cai Province has its city named
Lao Cai also, and 8 towns in which there are Sapa Town and Bac Ha District be

From
Ha Noi, there are 5 train trips a day at least to Lao Cai, you can come to Ha
Noi Railway Station called Hang Co Station before and choose the best train for
yourself. Ha Noi Railway Station is located at 120 Le Duan Street, Hoan Kiem
District. It is far from the center about 2km, and you spend just 10 minutes
for moving.
If
you don’t take any train to Lao Cai, you can transfer by coaches. It takes you

Sapa
Town: this is very famous town in Lao Cai with the great climate, wonderful
sightseeings and rich culture of the ethnic people. The town is far from Lao
Cai city about 38km. You can find out a lot of services for travelling in Lao
Cai and in Sapa, so don’t worry about it.
Bac
Ha District: Bac Ha District is well know with Bac Ha and Coc Ly Markets in the
highland area. It is located in the northeast of Lao Cai Province and far from
the province about 70km. From the center of Lao Cai City, it is very easy for
you to take motobike or some coaches to Bac Ha for visiting some special
destinations there like Co Tien Mountain, Bac Ha and Coc Ly markets, Trung Do
Ancient Citedal,..
Coc
San Cave and Muong Hum market: belong to Bat Xat District which is far from Lao
Cai city about 12km in the northwest. Coc San is an attractive place with small
caves and romantic waterfalls while Muong Hum market fastinates people by
charming ethnic girls in the colourful clothes.
The weather
Lao
Cai is a province in the highland of the north so the climate here is differ
from some other provinces in the North of Vietnam. Sometime there are 4 seasons
in a day because it is slightly cold in the morning as the weather in the
spring, hot at noon as in summer, cool in the afternoon as in autumn and cold
at night as winter.
The
best time for travelling here is in September and October. At this time you
have chane to look at the yellow terreced rice fields that so amazing. If not
you can come to visit Lao Cai in the end of February with the romantic beauty
of the woodland flowers blooming.

and drink
For
food: you can find out a lot of specialities in Lao Cai as salmon, salt pork,
colourful stick rice, chitken hash warraped in bitter bamboo shoot, chayote,
mustard greens, Thang Co dish, and the plum, “lon cap nach”. You can try these flavour
